"Jeans-that-were-made-into-a-hillbilly-purse" kind of thing.

My husband had thrown out this pair of jeans. So, in the interest of recycling, I rescued them and made this purse/tote bag. I'm not completely happy with it. It's big and still looks like "old-jeans-that-were-made-into-a-hillbilly-purse", kind of thing. I'm thinking about altering it further with paints and other fabrics, but wanted to show it in it's current state. It's pretty sturdy and is lined with a green calico fabric that I got in a box of scraps from my mom. I didn't even have to buy a heavy duty needle or thread, so this didn't cost me a dime. Well, maybe if you count the electricity and my time... Stay tuned.

Nice job! I've seen these easily dressed up by putting a silky-type scarf through the belt loops, or tying a scarf on one of the belt loops.

I made a blue jeans purse a few years ago and dressed it up with big buttons.

The nice thing about this sort of project is that you can do all sorts of things with it! Have fun!

Duh - didn't notice that you HAD tied a scarf to one of the belt loops - at least, it looks like you did!
